Viscount Leverhulme Council Lancashire Night

Friday 22nd May saw the first of the twice yearly Lancashire Nights organised under the banner of Viscount Leverhulme Council.
Organiser Peter Schofield ably assisted by John James Dawber.
The night of Lancashire Humour was the brain child of the late Gordon Mather Greenhalgh, the idea was encouraged by John (I know a man who will organise it) Dawber.
So Peter Schofield took up the reins, he was ably assisted by John James Dawber who amongst other duties took on the role as Car Park Attendant.
Direct from the U.S.A. Rob Mason
Entertainment of Northern Humour and a Sing Along was provided by Rob Mason.
Rob hails from the U.S.A. (Uther side of Atherton).   As well as Lancashire Humour there was much singing, "Uncle Joe's Mint Balls", "My Brother Sylvest" and yes you've guessed it, “Ging Gang Goolie".

During a break in the merriment a Lancashire Hot-Pot accompanied by Mushy Peas, Red Cabbage and Pickled Onions was served followed by Apple Pie and Cream.
Members and their Guests enjoying a "Reet Good Do"
A "reet good do" was enjoyed by over seventy people; all of them looking forward to the second Lancashire Night scheduled for Friday 27th November, as a result of the nights enjoyment, the Council now has two more candidates for membership.
Booking forms for the second Lancashire Night will be available soon, but watch out for an International Night to be organised in October.
